My Genre

The genre I chose to capture in all eight pictures is nature. I like it the best because it can be seen everywhere in anything. There's always a patch of natural grass growing in the cleanest of houses.

Good v. Bad Composition

This first picture applies Good composition as is applies the rule of thirds and has proper lighting. The second picture has very bad composition as it has a distracting background and is to bright and has to much exposure.

Applying the Rule of Thirds

In this first picture I took, I am not applying the rule of thirds because the plant is in the middle of the capture and not at all pleasing.

In this second edited and cropped picture, I have moved the top of the plant to the top-left third of the capture, and adjusted the lighting a bit.

Just to show further explanation from my previous picture, I have added the rule of thirds grid and just like I said, the top of the plant is in the place where our eye naturally looks.

8/23/17 Digital Editing GIF

In my Gif I chose to illustrate street photography in a way. I particularly like this image because of the sun that's shining down on the asphalt. The filters I used were paint daubs, watercolour, ink outline and coloured pencil.

8/28/17 My Name Alphabet Photography

This is an image of the edge of a small garden. I have made the rest of the image black and white, highlighting the blue "C" in my name.

This is an image of a growing tree. Part of the branch has been broken off creating the letter "Y" in my name.

This is an image of an "A" painted on a wall. It is clear what this letter is as it represents the letter "A" in my name.

This is an image of a gate. I have highlighted part of the gate in red so it highlights the letter "N" in my name.

9/4/17 Me My Color and I

This assignment consisted of taking a photo of ourselves, putting it in the background of an image we found online, and rating a "poem" about our favourite colour and how it represents us. The color I chose is cyan. As well as being a basic printing colour, it is also my name.

I edited this picture using Adobe Photoshop CS6 64 Bit Extended and by using the quick-selection-tool, to essentially "crop-out" the background of the picture with me in it. I then put that layer on top of two other images, added some text, and DONE!

This assignment consisted of taking pictures of a subject from the views of Extreme Long Shot, Long Shot, Medium Long Shot, Medium Close Up, Close Up, and Extreme Close Up. After watching an interactive power point, I was ready to go out and take pictures.

I believe that these pictures are taken in the industries such as Film Production and Professional Photography.

This assignment consisted of taking six pictures from six different camera angles, Birds Eye, High, Eye Level, Low, Worms Eye, and Canted.

These frames are used in filmography to express emotion of the subject, or with canted especially, to apply a sense of danger.

This is an image of a Fidget Spinner captured at 1/16 of a second. There is so much motion in this picture it's hard to make out the original shape.

This is an image of Fidget Spinner captured at 1/125 of a second. You can see motion, but can still make out the general three prongs of the spinner.

This is an image of a Fidget Spinner captured at 1/4000 of a second. You can clearly see the little amount of light let into this image as it is dark.

This is an image of a bottle captured from 3.5/f Aperture. You can clearly notice this in the background where it is barely visible to make out be running.

This is an image of a bottle captured from 8.0/f Aperture. Compared to the image on the far left. The pavement underneath the bottle is slightly blurry.

This is an image of a bottle captured from 36.0/f Aperture. By far it is the clearest of the three as the pavement beneath the bottle is focused as the bottle itself.

This picture was captured at an over-exposed at ISO 100. The aperture in this picture is very small leaving the goggles in focus. The Shutter Speed is set to 250, Because nothing is moving.

This picture was captured at a correctly exposed ISO at 800. The aperture in this picture is small again, and the shutter speed is also the same, 250.

This picture was intentionally under-exposed leaving the image darker. The ISO in this picture was set to 3200. The small aperture and low slow shutter speed made the picture brighter than expected, but still turned out under-exposed.
